We love being able to discover new toys and this little Alphapup from LeapFrog is fab!
We wanted to find a toy for Ted to help him with his speech development which is still quite slow and this pull-along-sing-along Puppy is great for learning new words. He has colourful alphabet buttons down his back and sings 3 different songs when pulled along.
I really like the fact it uses simple words and letters to help children learn phonics and basic vocabulary. As you pull the AlphaPup along he talks and even wags his tail!
Ted loves his super soft floppy ears but we found the lead a little too short considering it is designed for children aged 12 months to 3 years and Ted couldn't walk upright whilst pulling it along.
Ted has fallen into a rut of making sounds rather than using actual words, resorting to making the noise of animals rather than saying the animals name. This is our fault really as we encouraged it at first but I am keen to move on from sounds and to teach him more words in the next few weeks.
I am hoping with the use of educational toys and books we can teach him how exciting life can be when you are able to express yourself properly. He is so frustrated a lot of the time because he can't tell us what he wants and is desperate to communicate with us.
The AlphaPup (RRP £16.99) comes in Green or Pink with the pink one having a little bow on her head. We love Leapfrog toys and are really happy to welcome this new one to our collection alongside many firm favourites!
