Come Dine with Furniture Choice!

I was delighted to discover a fantastic competition being run by Furniture Choice called Come Dine with Furniture Choice. The challenge is to create your perfect 3 course meal that leaves the judges mouths watering. Now I am a huge foodie and watch hours upon hours of cookery shows so this competition filled me with excitement!

I wanted to design my menu around great seasonal produce for this time of year and for every guest to leave feeling warm and fuzzy inside. The theme is winter warmers so everyone should come wearing cozy (perhaps festive) jumpers.

For entertainment, at this time of year it could not be anything other than sparklers in the garden along with their very own sparkler name pictures as featured on Capture By Lucy's blog!

So here is my 3 course menu...

My favourite parts of this menu have to be the home made bread which is a no-knead bread, perfect for busy hostesses (Mums) who don't have hours to knead and prove and knead and prove again!

The pan fried brussel sprouts are a family favourite I created in my teens. The sprouts are thinly shredded before being stir fried with super crispy bacon and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Guaranteed to knock the socks off any sprout haters this winter!

My final favourite is an amazingly simple olive oil chocolate mousse I was 'taught' by George Calombaris from Masterchef Australia, Ok I say 'taught'...I just watched in awe from my sofa! It takes 3 ingredients and gives you a light delicious mousse. I decided to serve this with a clementine shortbread to tip my hat to everyone's favourite stocking filler the
Terry's Chocolate Orange.

All of this will be washed down with a choice of mulled cider or a Baileys hot chocolate with non-alcoholic versions of course!

I hope you all will try a couple of the recipes mentioned as they really are fantastic, especially my sprouts if I do say so myself!

You can enter the Furniture Choice competition and share your favourite 3 course meal! All the details you need can be found here
