Red Hot World Buffet - Our First Meal As Tastemakers!

Waiting for dinner at Red Hot World Buffet

Our first family meal at Red Hot World Buffet was a bit of a spur of the moment affair. I had been out the night before and wanted nothing more than some good food and family time. So we decided to go for Sunday lunch time and were at the door for the second they opened.

We were greeted by a hello and a smile from the manager as he let us into the restaurant and they got a high chair for Ted so he could sit at the table like a big boy!

We ordered our drinks, I decided on an Apple Melon Mocktail and Joe, being Joe, went for a Coke. When our drinks arrived I was so excited to find actual chunks of melon in my glass and it was so fruity and refreshing. The drinks menu was brilliant and I had my eye on a milkshake for after the meal, if I could fit it in!

As it was an 'all you can eat' style buffet I decided to ease myself in gently with a medley of salads and nibbles. The mozzarella  tomato and rocket salad with pesto was delicious. Ted had a nibble on some of my starters and stole my strawberry from my mocktail!

Joe dived straight in with some curry, he is a bit of a fussy eater so we were concerned that he may not like a lot of the dishes. Surprisingly there was plenty of food that he liked and he was very pleased to find Lamb Rogan Josh which is one of his favourites.

The salads were fresh and crunchy!

There was plenty of food for Ted to eat too, he loved nibbling on roast potatoes and veg and tried a few new flavours too like Lentil Dahl and Pea and Paneer Curry! The staff were brilliant and cleared our plates away as soon as we had finished so that we could go and get some more. They even got us a little bowl for Ted when I asked so he could have his own meal.

We had a choice of everything from Crispy Chilli Chicken to Roast beef. I will admit I did struggle a little with the layout as some of the Indian food was in the same place as the Roast Beef and I found myself dashing between the different stations trying to decide what to have as I don't like the different cuisines mixing together on my plate.

Next we were on to deserts! I was surprised at the variety of puddings available. We have been to Red Hot before and the sweets were one area that disappointed me. However, this time they were lovely. Ted loved the Mango Baked Yogurt and I wolfed down a slice of Chocolate Mousse Cake.

I discovered a new favourite called Gulab Jamun, they were little sponge balls soaked in syrup and I could have eaten so many! I was especially excited to find the Apple Crumble and Custard, an old favourite and Ted liked the custard too.

This my lovelies, is the best Milkshake I have ever had! Banana Milkshake made with real banana's and ice cream topped with whipped cream and a slice of fresh banana! I was in heaven!

Best Banana Milkshake Ever!

We had a lovely meal and I can't wait to go back in a few months to see what new dishes are on the menu.

The restaurant itself was beautiful too and was decorated really nicely. I would say one of the only negative points I had was that the baby changing/disabled bathroom was a little grubby and could do with a bit of TLC and the tables also could do with replacing as they had a lot of scratches as you can see in the pictures. Perhaps some points for them to work on.

Mummy, Teddy and Daddy Drinks!

We all went home with very full tummy's and had a lazy afternoon and a little someone had a very long snooze!
