Messy Play!

I decided recently that Messy Play needed to take place more often in our house.

After exploring on the internet for paint recipes there were lots of homemade idea's.
Unfortunately all the recipe's I found required ingredients I didn't have so I experimented and made my own 'Gloop' style paint.

I mixed a heaped tablespoon of flour with 100ml of warm water, mixed to form a pancake batter consistency and added a few drops of food colouring

We had Grey, Pink and Green 'Gloop'.

It was far from perfect and really didn't work as a paint but it was the best I could do until I got to the shops.

Ooh whats this?

Ted had lots of fun rubbing it all over his high chair and catching it as I dripped it onto his tray from a spoon. He tried to eat it several times so I am glad it was edible.

Happy Boy getting Messy!

He had so much fun and afterwards he had a nice bath and the 'Gloop' came off easily.

I can't wait to find some more messy activities to have fun with. I am going to attempt to make playdough soon so will let you know how we get on!

What are your favourite activities to do with the kids?

  1. My little one isn't so keen on messy play so we stick to cleaner bits like water beads which he really loves. Ted looks so happy!
