Ted's Bedroom!

This is Ted's bedroom. I can't explain how soothing it was decorating this room while I was pregnant and the excitement knowing that it meant he would soon be here! I love it and wanted to tell you all about the love that went in to putting it together.

We live in a rented house so it was hard to decide how to make his nursery look lovely without being able to paint it with bright colours. The first thing we got was his furniture (top left). My dad was given these from a job he was working at and we got a bookshelf and a big unit with space for a changing area on top. They are handmade and have nursery rhyme characters on. They are really colourful and injected a bit of character into the room.

Next came his cot which was in fact Joe's when he was a baby and is a whole 24years old! I love that it even has some tiny teeth marks in places where Joe would bite on the bars! We decided to add colour with a Blossom Farm mobile and some wall stickers.

The shelf unit was from my parents house and I always loved it but couldn't find the right place for it until now. It has tiny drawers in for keeping all Ted's bits and bobs in and all his special keepsakes can be kept on display and out of reach of little grabbing hands.

I finished the room off by hanging his baby cards, a paper cutout picture made by a friend, a cross-stitch by my Auntie and my lovely hot air balloons I made!

He has a Winnie the Pooh rocking horse, bunting made by my Cousin and a gorgeous new bookshelf I got from Freecycle!

I love my little boy's room but I also can't wait to redo it when he is bigger!

I am sharing with #MagicMoments and #WhatsTheStory?
