Vistaprint Photo Books

A few weeks ago the lovely people at Vistaprint sent us on a day trip of our choice to get some pictures to put in one of their photo books! We decided to take Ted on his first trip to the farm along with his Godparents Auntie Claudy and Uncle Dave.

Ted loved all the animals, there were rabbits, sheep, cows, horses, goats, alpaca's, chickens, ducks and even a skinny cow, which after some confusion on Claudy's behalf turned out to be a reindeer!

We had a lovely picnic, got some nice pictures for our photo book and after visiting all the animals we finished the day off with a trip down the road to Ikea! It was such a special day and we are so happy to have those pictures to show Ted when he is older and he can see one of his first family days out!

I couldn't wait to get home and start putting our photo book together. I put all the pictures onto my laptop ready to upload to Vistaprint. There is a wide range of photo books to choose from starting from just £6.99. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be adapted to your own personal style. There is an online photo book editor where you can personalise your book and be in control of the layout and add your own unique design to the book or you can just leave all the hard work to Vistaprint and allow them to lay out the photo's for you in one of their default designs.

First, I chose which book I wanted. I chose the biggest book as this was our first photo book and I wanted it to be extra special.

Then I designed our photo book and uploaded my pictures. There was also the options to add text so I made the book like a story detailing everything from the moment we found out we were having a baby through to Ted's first dinners and our trip the the farm!

Finally, I added the extra details which make your book unique. These include photo covers, leather or linen bound books, high gloss paper, standard or lay flat binding. I went for a leather bound book with Ted's name etched into the front and upgraded to the high gloss paper to make the pictures pop.

It took me some time to complete as my laptop was a little slow but I wanted to make it perfect so it was worth the effort. The online editor works a lot quicker than the downloadable editor but doesn't have as many editing options. Once I completed my order my photo book was on its way!

We received our photo book today, a few days earlier than the delivery time given and it is beautiful. The leather binding and engraving on the front is really special and the high gloss paper makes our pictures look brilliant!

Another bonus is when you sign up to Vistaprint you are sent emails regularly offering you free items. For a Christmas one year I was able to make a free mug, t-shirt, banner and ink stamp all personalised as gifts and only paid for the postage! You can only get up to 5 free items in an order but they are fantastic gifts and for £8 postage I covered a quarter of our presents that year!
